new years

For new years eve last night we started off with a BBQ at the gardens near my friends flat, even though very minimal barbecuing was performed!
Then when it was finally dark (like 11pm) we went back to Tim's to celebrate the countdown! Me and Sam. Taylor, Anna and Anna's awful glasses. Me and Taylor looking mighty attractive. With Sophie when my camera decided not to use the flash, And with Richard.
It was one of the better new years I've had in the recent years and had a fairly good time.

I didn't get home until 4:30am and decided it really wasn't worth going to sleep, so I'm a wee bit sleepy right about now.
I apparently find a bush walk in the heat a good way to overcome tiredness (really doesn't work).
Me and dad went down the end of the street to Fraser's Gully for this epically non epic trek.
This hill is like 40m down the road from my house and takes us to our own wee entrance to the gully. Since it's been raining on and off the past few days the creek you have to cross was a bit stronger and higher than usual but made for refreshingly cool start to the walk. We veered of the gravel track a bit but found these trees which supplied something different from the pine (or what I'm pretending is pine) trees that line the track, And this really cute Alice in Wonderland-erish mushroom! For the majority of the track you're above the creek but about 3/4 of the way down there is a clearing where you can see it in all it's glory without risking falling of a bank which is always a bonus.

It's fairly cool that this place is just across from my house!

Happy new years everyone!!!
