enough already

I can openly admit that I'm a "twihard" but seriously enough already!
You can't flip over to E! without seeing something related to The Twilight Saga and the most mundane things slightly related to it are making the news. Last week "the confirmation" that Rob and Kristen are going out was a featured story on the news here, what the frick???
All this constant hype about is making me annoyed so who knows how frustrated people who don't like it must feel!
Love the books and films but I really couldn't care less that Rob and Kristen held hands and so and so is at the airport.
Can it please just stop being considered news worthy?!?!

the struggle

My hair has been a never ending work in progress.
When I was little the struggle was having it knot free, it was a mass of ringlets which took mum hours to de-tangle.

(With my Grandad)

Then when I started high school it was the never ending fly-aways from the curls I unsuccessfully at times tried to control.

(and yes that is my natural hair colour)

At 16 I began with the dying, I decided I want my hair the colour of Kate Walsh (aka Addison from Private Practice).

It took a year and the cutting of a hairdresser to achieve this but I finally did, YAY!

(Argh 16 is a bad age)
Too bad by the time it got to that colour I had decided I want to go blond, little did I know the blond process would take even longer (especially since it started with red hair).
Finally my hair is long, blond and under control but I still aspire for it to be just a little bit more blond- like Holly Madison below. (Yes I like Holly Madison, so sue me!)
Thankfully I'm not that far from this and I think I've found my perfect hair colour!

finished

Because I lack this wee thing called a life I started Catching Fire last night and finished at 4am this morning!
I started off with the intention of going to sleep before the sun began to rise again but the book just wouldn't let me. At 12:14am I told myself one more chapter then I'll stop but no each chapter ends with its own little cliff hanger so I had to go onto the next, this dilemma continued until there were only 4 chapters left and I decided to stop lying to myself and admit I would finish it. I couldn't predict any of the things that happened and everything just kept happening so really I had no choice!
But this epic solution ended in the ultimate conundrum, the next book isn't released until next year, argh what am I going to do?!?!
This is the reason I don't normally a read series until its finished, I need to know what happens. Is Peeta ok? Is Prim and her mum? What happened to district 12? What is up with district 13?
So many questions, so little answers until the next book!

catching fire

Since apparently Dunedin Public Library sucks and is stupid face I'm going to splash out and buy Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins.
Like 3 months ago I asked them to buy and they said they would but no they still don't have it and I'm really not paitent enough to wait any longer to find out what happens with Katniss and Peeta.
I must admit it also helps that I got 25% off voucher!

I shall begin reading it tonight, can't wait!

new moon

I finally saw New Moon last night, one word- AMAZING!
It was soooooooooo much better than I was expecting!
It stayed true to the book,
had all the scenes I wanted,
was really funny!
but also really sad!
The whole theatre laughed when Jacob took his shirt off (poor Taylor, but only cause we were all team Edward), but he was really quite adorable
there were tonnes of awwwwww moments
Bella's hallucinations of Edward weren't as cheesey as I though they'd be (a big plus)
but some things were rushed a bit too much for my liking.
All in all a fabtabulous movie sure to impress, I'm going to see it again later today!
*SPOILER*
but not really
The end will make you squeee!

final countdown

Only 1 hour until I see New Moon! Can't believe the wait is almost over!

domestic development

My bathroom was slowly becoming very chaotic, the bench was covered in makeup bottles and anything else I took out of the drawers.
At 11 last night I thought it would be a good time to clean (I always get fabulous ideas like that....) After my epic cleaning I went a bit crazy with my sanitizing spray, so my sink is now clean as clean!
My gardening experiment is also starting to turn out quite well!
Flowers are actually growing,
Strawberries are growing (and now not being eaten by birds)
It's quite the colourful wee garden!

christmas spirit

Although I'm not going to start decorating for Christmas until December 1st, I'm going to start compiling inspiration and ideas now and use here as my scrapbook!
Since Christmas is the only major holidays here (besides the pathetic attempt given to Easter) it's my only chance to decorate to a theme and this year will be my first shot at it.
Normally I struggle to even complete the tree so my goal for this year is to complete the tree (and not just chucking the decorations at it), decorate the house and make some new decorations!
I'll be realistic and allow myself a few days to do so, here's fingers crossed it will be successful.

countdown part 3

27 hours to go!It's getting so close, I remember seeing Twilight the day it came out last year and thinking it would be forever until New Moon came out and now it's almost here!

dear john

I started reading Dear John by Nicholas Sparks yesterday and so far enjoying it, even though I'm finding some parts a bit frustrating, I want John and Savannah to stay together!, The movie for it is coming out next year.
Now don't get me wrong I like Amanda Seyfried but she just doesn't fit the image I had for Savannah (for starters she's meant to be brunette), hopefully my like for her will win me over with her portrayal of Savannah.
And don't even get me started on Channing Tatum as John, I would never ever find him remotely intimidating or 'scary' looking. Way too feminine for my liking (no offense....), blame it on the dancing movie.Even though I know the book doesn't end how I want it to, I'm looking forward to finishing it and for the movies release.

countdown part 2

Only 84 hours to go! So exciting!

bcbgmaxazria

I found this BCBGMAXAZRIA dress when searching for a dress Addison wore on Private Practice and fell in love, I then couldn't find it anywhere and was fairly upset.
I did a random ebay search for 'navy dress' and found it, yuss!
The bidding closes in 5 hours and someone is now trying to take my precious dress away from me *total sadness* Tell them to keep away from the dress, it's mine I tell you, MINE!!!

I haven't tried the cupcake and frosting together but separately they tasted pretty good so chances are good for these banana cupcakes with honey cinnamon frosting!

halloween

Happy Halloween!
Last night I went to two Halloween parties, I started off as a vampire but my fangs were made of gelatin so only had a short 2 hour life!

Once they dissolved I alternated between black angel wings and pink fairy wings with lights!

It was a very successful Halloween night!
